What are IPF Points?
The IPF Points Calculator is a tool designed to compute points based on the performance of powerlifters, taking into account various factors such as body weight, type of lift, and gender. This system provides a fair comparison of lifters across different body weights and genders, replacing the previous Wilks scoring method.
Overview of the IPF GL Points System
The IPF GL Points system was introduced to provide a fair comparison of lifters across different body weights and genders. The calculation is based on the IPF GL Coefficient formula, which incorporates specific coefficients for different types of lifts (e.g., equipped vs. classic) and is adjusted for gender.
Calculating IPF Points
The formula for calculating IPF Points is:
IPF Points = 500 + 100 * (Result – (A * Ln(Bw) – B)) / (C * Ln(Bw) – D)
Where “Result” refers to the weight lifted in kilograms, “Bw” refers to body weight in kilograms, and “Ln” refers to the natural logarithm.
